Some of the routes on the Seoul City Bus Tour that links most of the city's major sightseeing and shopping areas are to change from May 1.
City officials say two of the four routes, namely the Palace Course and the Convention Course, will change, while the other two routes, the Downtown and Night Courses, will remain the same.
Specifically, the Palace Course will change to a Cheonggyecheon (Cheonggye Stream) & Palace Course, as a few stops near Cheonggyecheon including Cheonggyecheon Museum are to be added to the original Palace Course.
It will henceforth run like this: Gwanghwamun → Deoksugung Palace → Cheonggyecheon Plaza → Gyeongbokgung Palace → Insa-dong → Changdeokgung Palace → Changdeokgung Palace → Insa-dong → Cheong Wa Dae (the Blue House) → Gyeongbokgung Palace → Gwanghwamun.
In addition, the bus that runs on the Convention Course (Gwanghwamun → Cheonggyecheon Plaza → COEX → Seoul Forest → Cheonggyecheon Plaza → Gyeongbokgung Palace) will stop at one more stop, the N Seoul Tower, a communication tower and tourist attraction located on top of Namsan (Mount Nam).
Accordingly, the name of the route will change to the Convention & Namsan Course.
The Seoul Bus Tour gives tourists a chance to sample what Seoul has to offer without having to do the legwork.
For the price of one ticket ranging from 5,000-12,000 won (about $5-12 dollars), people can get on and off the bus at as many stops along the circuit as they like.
Each bus comes equipped with an earphone speaker that gives tourist information about the various sites in five different languages---Korean, English, French, Japanese and Chinese.
