In Indonesia, 44 asylum seekers are being described as traumatized after a shipwreck this weekend that killed nearly 400 others. One 8-year-old survivor lost his entire family. The Indonesian boat was carrying asylum seekers mostly from the Middle East. It reportedly left from Sumatra heading to Australia's Christmas Island. Australian opposition leader, Kim Beazley, said the catastrophe highlighted the need for his country and Indonesia to agree on controlling illegal immigration.
