The Pope Concludes Armenia Visit (Nov, 2001)

Pope John Paul II has returned to Rome after his pilgrimage to Kazakhstan and Armenia. During his final day in Armenia the Pope urged the Catholic community to help rebuild the ailing economy. The Pope's three-day visit commemorated Armenia's seventeen hundred years of Christianity. He was the first head of the Roman Catholic Church to visit the world's first Christian state.
